Dear TRS,
I am a resident from Bukit Batok. Ever since there was an office building being built along street 25 (located 2 stops after - about 15 minutes walk or lesser), I have been having problems commuting to work in the morning.
I understand that the public transport is for everyone but this honestly frustrates me so much. I wonder if anyone feels the same as me too? My house is 4 bus stops from the interchange, this may sound like a short distance but it can take at least 10 minutes to get there not only that, it is in the opposite direction where I am heading towards.
Every morning, I arrive early at the bus stop in fear of being late for work due to the morning crowds. I am very disappointed that despite waking up early just so I can have an extra buffering time, I am still not able to get on 106 and commute to work. The buses are always filled with so many office workers that none of these 106 buses stop at my stop to pick up anyone.
I can't help but to get extremely frustrated today as three buses passed by and I still did not manage to get up any one of them.
Even though SMRT dedicated a 106A bus to drop people off at Clementi Station -- where most people then switch to the train and continue their journey, it is still not helping with the crowd control.
Why can't SMRT come up with a better solution so that it will be a win-win situation for those office workers? Such as dedicating a bus that makes a loop since this bus journey will take less than 15 minutes? (Picks them up from the interchange, drop them off at the office and so on)
I am so disappointed with major public transport these days.
Maybe if the bus companies can't deploy more buses, they should consider chaning the policies of when to pick up commuters. Since those who take he bus later on the route will always be disadvantaged, the bus captains should reject some of the commuters at the earlier stops to prevent the buses from filling up before they can get to the other stops.
That way, everyone at each stop will have to wait a little bit rather than commuters further away form the start of the route having to wait multiple busses because comuters in the first few stops fill up all the buses.
