Dear The Real Singapore,
Firstly, before I start my article, I would like to apologize for my lack good command of English.
I'm a 15 years old girl. I spent my childhood working in a fast food restaurant, Mos Burger. Everything was great at the start. The crews and the managers were good to me. However, things started to change when I got closer with this adult senior crew there. He was a middle age man from Phillippines. It was the third month I joined the store and he got touchy with me, he would smack or pinch my butt. He did that to my friend and an Singaporean Auntie who is more than 60years old. My mangers know it, but they won't stop him... As he was the 'best' crew in our outlet, he can handle any position well.
I quitted the job few months ago as I needed to concentrate on my studies. However, the Auntie which I had mentioned is still suffering in the store. She worked for Mos Burger for more than 10 years. Her pay was just merely $5.10, ten cents more than starting pay. She do closing for a decade. Closing is not easy, you have to sweep and mop the lobby, clear the rubbish bin and etc... And it is around 1.30am after you have finished the work. She is a great person. She always believe that there will be good karma for good people. She's innocent and that's why the managers love her.
The Pinoy co-worker there love to take advantages of her. I have no ideas how many branded goods (coach wallet, baby G watch, etc...) had she bought for them, just because they insisted that. ''Auntie, buy me that Coach wallet for Christmas leh''. And yes, she bought it. Don't blame her, she is a religious person and I must emphasis, she believes in good karma. When she needed a leave, the manager will ask her to get him a slice of cake/ cup of drink from Starbucks for an exchange of day off.
The managers staff are mostly from Phillippines and they are mostly corrupted. They 'protect' the ones that bribe them, while the others are left with the more difficult position (e.g clearing of table). As I had mentioned, the guy that get touchy with me have not yet receive any punishment. He had stopped doing that to the crews there for a while when I made a police report against him. I thought he would change thus I refused to charge him for outrage of modesty. However, my judgement was wrong. He continued to disturb the auntie when the police case was closed. Manager do not do anything about it and the crews are too afraid to speak up.
What can a 15years old girl do? I seek for your help in helping my Auntie. Thank you.
