I refer to TRS article “PAP MP Hri Kumar rejects Roy Ngerng and Kenneth Jeyaretnam from his CPF dialogue event”. I could not believe my eyes when I first read about their invitation. Their subsequent rejection confirms my negative opinion of PAP MP Hri Kumar.
I strongly feel it will be a waste of time for Roy and Kenneth because Kumar is basically a nobody in the PAP! The fact the he is conducting a dialogue, which will probably be a monologue with him rehashing from CPF FAQ section and press articles, only after the big hoo hah at Hong Lim Park confirms he has been in the dark on the CPF issue.
This issue has affected hundreds of thousands of citizens and Kumar has clearly not been listening to his constituents. It is hard to believe that his hard of hearing was suddenly cured.
Kumar is one of the more unpopular PAP MPs online because he tries too hard to be in the good books of the PAP, similar to his colleague Indranee Rajah. What he has highlighted so far has been unconstructive eg criticising the opposition party link but not doing much for his constituents.
Tan Chuan Jin has refused to address the transparency issue on CPF. Imagine if a minister was not allowed (from higher ups) to address the concerns of CPF members, what can a nobody like Kumar do? So his dialogue will be another Our Singapore CONversation (OSC), a monologue for him to inform attendees why the status quo should be maintained. The press will use this opportunity to show engagement with the people. And the PAP will continue failing the people.
Imagine the OSC had more than 40,000 participants but none indicated the CPF was an issue! If this is not the definition of WAYANG, nothing is. Those who are attending Kumar’s CPF talk should reconsider attending this little mini wayang.
