Dear TRS,
I want to share this story with you that recently happen to my friend who is an SAF Officer.
He was driving to camp one day when another road user in a white Mazda 3 (SGU6130A) cut across three lanes into the path of his car.
My friend had to stop quite suddenly because of it.
My friend didn’t think much of it, he simply overtook the car and continued on his journey. He didn’t cut off the car or brake in front of it when he overtook it, he just did it normally.
My friend never horned rudely or anything else to provoke the white Mazda three driver but he obviously wasn’t happy that my friend overtook him.
He later came and cut off my friend when he slowed down to turn right.
The driver got out of the car, knocked on his window and challenged my friend to get out of the car.
My friend, being an SAF employee, he was afraid to get into any confrontation and so he just remained in his car.
The man in car SGU6130A then kicked his front bumper, denting it and causing damage on the number plate.
See the video here:
I am really sad that my friend got bullied like this and was afraid of getting out and doing anything to defend himself because he was already in uniform and this type of thing is always easily blown out of proportion.
Since when have our SAF servicemen become to underprivileged. In the train, they can’t sit down because of being STOMPed and even on the streets, they are afraid to stand up for themselves if they are in uniform.
It seems that others are also taking advantage of them too.
