Recently I attended the Mother's Day celebration organised by a Community Centre and whilst waiting for the Minister, a video on the Pioneer Package was screened.
The video shows an elderly lady consulting a fortune teller who saw her 'lifeline' and subsequently explained the Pioneer Package to her and the show ended with him giving her four numbers to buy 4D. On 11 May, the number came out as 0192.
Is the video trying to say that majority of the Pioneer Generation consult fortune tellers and encouraging people to gamble in 4D?
I personally feel that there are better ways to reach out to the Pioneer Generation to explain to them about the package..
What the Pioneer Generation needs is facts and figures ie if I go and visit a Polyclinic, how much I need to pay for my consultation and medicine - be commital ie they only need to pay eg 10%? Likewise, hospitalised in B2 or C ward, how much is covered, 90%? As Medishield Life has not even been announced, there should be no mention of it.
I hope the Pioneer Generation Package Committee will seriously look into what message the video is driving?
