“But I do worry when people say we should take it easy on growth because we are okay, and they talk airily about the more important things in life.” – LHL.
Why the f**ks is he putting words in our mouths. No one said that we should take it easy on growth. But if growth is disproportionately accrued to forty per cent of the foreign economic migrants freely allowed in by the government and robbing Singaporeans of the juicier part of the growth and we, the peasants, go partake in the menial and mundane part of the growth in security, F&B and cleaning, than we say f**ked it.
I was a warehouse manager for a global manufacturing Company A. I was instrumental in designing the WMS (Warehouse Management System), the commission and the running of this warehouse for Company A, almost to perfection without any glitch.
Company A eventually sold its entire operations here to Company B in 2009 and I was prematurely retired.
Company A moved its entire manufacturing operations to Malaysia and the Philippines and outsourced its warehouse and distribution functions to a Global Logistics Company here at Alps Changi (Airport Logistics Park of Singapore) for global shipments.
In 2010 in an e2i job fair, the Global Logistics Company advertised for a warehouse executive to run this particular distribution hub outsourced from Company A. I applied and went for interview, first interview I sailed through smoothly and was earmarked for a second interview because of my intimate involvement and knowledge of the system and functions of this outsourced warehouse.
I lost out in the second interview, the warehouse executive job went to a PRC PR even though I was willing to downsize my expectations substantially to less than half of what I formerly earned in Company A.
e2i then offered me jobs in F&B, cleaning and security, stick them up their arses, I said.
Tell me, in this instance does FT create jobs or steal jobs from Singaporeans?
“We are determined to get a fair deal for Singaporean employees. At the same time, I think I should remind Singaporeans that they have to compete on our merits and contributions. It applies to all our workers. That is ultimately the only way to secure jobs and careers.”- LHL
On merits and contributions in my case mentioned here. How did I loose out to a novice PR PRC who can’t even string together a proper sentence in English? How to communicate with global clients except China clients?
Does our PM really know what the f**k is going on? I seriously doubt so with him busy taking photos with PR PRCs like Yang Yin who apple-polished him in an exaggerated display of flattery and adulation, sending him intoxicated into cloud number nine.
